Hey, Adam! :-) Randomly ran into the site. I'm trying out Chrome right now, we'll see how it works. Take it easy!

I like the fact that it uses webkit but I will continue using Firefox until plugin support is fixed!

You would have thought they would have at least released a Gmail plugin since it is a google product...

Ok. Nice browser. But I definitely LOVE AdBlock (plus some other addons). I'll keep surfing with FireFox until a clone of AdBlock is available for Chrome. ;-)

Firebug is definitely more powerful than the Chrome inspector. Chrome doesnt allow you to change properties, edit/add/delete code within the page and much more.

It's handy for seeing how a page is built but not useful as a developer tool.

Chrome element inspector is good but firebug is much better.
In Chrome you cant edit css on the fly, cant edit tags properties and dont show on inspector the element that cursor is pointing as firebug does...

I believe Chrome will be the best browser some day... but not now yet.

Being a Firefox fan like yourself, I was thinking that the G-browser would have a long way to go to get my endorsement. Having said that, the speed increase in page loads, the way I'm seeing Chrome manage Javascript and just general all-round usability goodness was a HUGE sell. I realize that this is an infamous G-beta product, but I found myself looking for reasons as to why I wouldn't make it my primary browser after viewing my websites and finding no quirky errors (yet).

The question, then, was around Firebug, which I find indispensable, and doubt I could live without. Searching (straight from the address bar :) for 'Firebug + Google chrome' brought me to your blog post. I knew nothing of the inbuilt developer functionality - kudos to you for the info!

What can I say? I'm now sold.

The V8 Javascript engine, if it is picked up by the other main browsers, will mean that we as developers won't need to crunch our .js files as much, and pages can get even more lively than they are today.

A good day in the history of the web, I reckon.

Cheers again for the heads up on the inbuilt dev assist, lookin forward to test driving it!
